Queen Margrethe holds ball at Christianborg Slot

This evening the Queen, Prince Henrik, Crown Prince Frederik (on crutches), Crown Princess Mary, Princess Benedikte, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie attended a ball hosted by the Queen for over four hundred distinguished musicians, artists, architects, instructors and sportspeople, including Henning Larsen and Bent Fabricius-Bjerre, at Christianborg Slot. Also invited are various Danish dignitaries, such as the Prime Minister, Fogh Rasmussen, the Minister of Trade and the Minister of Cultural Affairs.

The last ball of this type was held eleven years ago, and was described by Billed-Bladet as a “tremendous evening” with the royal family getting fully involved in the ‘wild’ dancing.
