On their final day in the United States, yesterday, October 24th, the Danish Crown Princely Couple hit the ground running early in the morning. Their first stop was to the Life Spire Inc. facility, to view the cooperation between Life Spire and Danish Team Online.

Prince Frederik and Princess Mary were shown around the facility, which works to create a supportive working environment for people with disabilities, and learnt about the Bosted software, which is provided to Life Spire by Team Online. From there, the couple went their seperate ways – the Crown Prince headed off to Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, the Crown Princess to the Manhattan School for Children.

At Mount Sinai Hospital, Prince Frederik visited the cardiac department, where he was given a demonstration of equipment designed and produced by Danish company Radiometer, which is designed to assist cardiac patients. He even got to don a white doctor’s coat for the visit.

Meanwhile, Princess Mary joined up with chef Rene Redzepi and was over learning about the way New York City schools grow vegetables on their rooftops – without soil – at the Manhattan School for Children. The soil-less concept is part of the Greenhouse Project.

At lunchtime, the couple joined back up in Tribeca, for the opening of Adam Aamann’s new restaurant, Aamann/Copenhagen. The restaurant is termed the “first Danish restaurant” to be opened in Manhattan for some time. Danish popsinger Medina performed at the event, and later spoke and posed for photos with the Crown Princely Couple. The couple’s final event of the visit was a visit to the new Carl Hansen & Son furniture showroom in SoHo, where Frederik and Mary then opened a Danish Design Fusion event, to mark the sixtieth anniversary of Danish design in New York, and the United States.

Later that afternoon, the couple were seen strolling around SoHo.
