Victoria and Daniel Visit Finland, Day Two

The Crown Prince and Prince of Sweden have settled back into Haga Palace, following their two-day visit to Finland earlier this week (read about day one here).

On September 20th, the couple Logomo, where they viewed three exhibitions as part of Turku’s ‘Capital of Culture’ year. The exhibitions were named “Only A Game”, “Fire” and “Alice in Wonderland”; Victoria and Daniel then moved on to visit the city’s main library, where they mingled with young children (the images of the couple with the children offered royal watchers a glimpse into the future, when the child who Victoria and Daniel pose with will be their own).

At lunchtime, Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel headed over to the Vähätori Square, where dozens of Finns had gathered to see their favourite Swedish royals. The couple took their time walking along the crowds, some presenting them with flowers and gifts for their awaited newborn. From there, it was on to a luncheon at the Hus Lindman hosted by the City of Turku and the Turku 2011 Foundation.

The couple’s final engagement of the trip was their attendance at an informal discussion session at the Åbo Akademi Arken, on the topic “Turku with Different Eyes – The Creative Generation and the Social Creation of a City.” Victoria and Daniel were joined by several of Turku’s creative youths, and the university’s Professor Alf Rehn.
