Cambridges attend ARK Gala
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the 10th Annual ARK (Absolute Return for Kids) Gala this evening at Perks Field, a park within the grounds of Kensington Palace, the residence which will become their official London home.
During the dinner, Prince William gave speech to the guests, who paid £10,000-a head to attend. The Duke said he was very happy about the “new joint initiative between ARK and The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry,” and that he would work hard to “raise aspirations, broaden horizons and encourage young people to achieve.” He revealed that ARK and the Foundation will be working together in a four-year program.
The event was held to benefit various charities which work with disadvantaged children world-wide. The couple attended the dinner on behalf of the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry, which raises money for charitable purposes. Around 900 guests joined the newly married couple, including Crown Prince and Princess Pavlos of Greece, and their fourteen-year-old daughter, Princess Maria-Olympia. Celebrity guests included Arki Busson, who is the co-founder of ARK, Elizabeth Hurley and Jemima Khan.
The Duchess wore a pale rose sequined evening dress by designer Jenny Packham, paired with shoes and a clutch from her favourite, LK Bennett. Crown Princess Pavlos wore a silvery-white gathered hick-neck gown, accessorised with a lilac clutch and dark heels. Princess Maria Olympia was wearing white and grey stripped cocktail dress, under a white double-breasted coat.
