7 Days To Go – Countdown to the Royal Wedding
We’re in the home stretch! The royal wedding of the decade is only seven days away, and you would be hard-pressed to find a news outlet which doesn’t have a report or two about next Friday’s wedding between Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton.
This week, the official photographer for the wedding was revealed. Hugo Burnand, who was the official photographer for the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall’s 2005 nuptuals, will be taking the official photographs of the bridal couple following the wedding ceremony.
The British Royal Family’s YouTube channel, TheRoyalChannel, was also announced by the Palace to be hosting a live stream of the wedding from 10:00 London time. This will be the first time in history a royal wedding is streamed live on YouTube.
Earlier this week, the coat of arms of Miss Middleton was revealed (read more about the arms here). The arms will feature on the Official Souvenir Wedding Program, which will be sold at various points along the procession route on the day of the wedding and can be downloaded from the Official Royal Wedding website on April 28th.
And of legal requirement, Queen Elizabeth II gave formal permission for the bridal couple to be married. The Queen signed the ‘Instrument of Consent’, a document which must be signed by the monarch to give permission for any descendant of George II to marry, on February 6th. The document reads,
“NOW KNOW YE that We have consented and do by these Presents signify Our Consent to the contracting of Matrimony between Our Most Dearly Beloved Grandson Prince William Arthur Philip Louis of Wales K.G. and Our Trusty and Well-beloved Catherine Elizabeth Middleton.”
