Royal Wedding Spoof Goes Viral
T-Mobile sure did a right royal job with their most recent advertisement. Tapping into the current royal wedding craze, the company produced a spoof of the upcoming April 29 nuptials between Prince William and Catherine Middleton at Westminster Abbey to use as a marketing tool.
Featuring an arm-raising Archbishop of Canterbury, 70s-style Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie dancers and an incredibly good Duchess of Cornwall look-a-like, the video begins with the “royal family” entering the “Abbey” to the tune of East 17’s House of Love. Startled “dignitaries” immediately start bopping away and pull out their camera phones to capture the moment “Princess Anne” prances down the aisle and krumps with daughter “Zara”.
Ending with “Prince William” grooving his way to the alter with his bride “Catherine”, the clip is currently sitting on 6,868,763 views after being uploaded five days ago. Rest assured though – the real royal wedding is unlikely to feature any early-90s pop. In public that is. What goes on at the private reception, with Prince Harry at the helm, is anyone’s guess.
