State Visit from Lithuania
The President of the Republic of Lithuania, Dalia Grybauskaitė, is currently on a two-day State Visit to Norway. She was welcomed by the King and Queen and the Crown Princely couple at the Palace Square on April 5th.
After the welcoming ceremony the President and the Norwegian Royals went inside the Palace,where official photos were taken. Also gifts were exchange then.
After lunch, the President laid a wreath at the national monument for the victims of the Second World War. Afterwards the Royal couple and Dalia Grybauskaitė visited the Storting (the Norwegian parliament) to meet the President of the Storting.
In the evening the Royal couple hosted a gala banquet in honour of President Grybauskaitė. The Crown Princely couple and Princess Astrid, Mrs. Ferner, were also in attendance.
During the second day the President and King Harald travelled to Ålesund. Here they visited a shipyard and the city centre of Ålesund. After a luncheon they payed a visit to the University college of Ålesund to conclude the State Visit.
