Charlene Wittstock’s Visit to South Africa

Charlene Wittstock is not even married, not even Serene Highness, yet as Prince Albert’s fiancee, set to become the Princess Consort of Monaco in less than five months’ time, she is already in the swing of her first solo diplomatic mission. Granted, the tour she has undertaken is of her homeland, South Africa. The princess-in-training is actually a native of Bulawayo, Rhodesia (today Zimbabwe) but her family relocated to the South African port city of Durban.

Thursday, 10 February: The princess-in-waiting attended a charity breakfast, to benefit the Special Olympics, at St. John Diocesan School.

Friday, 11 February: Charlene attended the launch of “The Nelson Mandela Intimate Moments Exhibition” in Pietermaritzburg.

Saturday, 12 February-Sunday, 13 February: Charlene swam in the Midmar Mile — a race along the Midmar Dam in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. The Midmar Mile challenge raises money for the Special Olympics.

Tuesday, 15 February: Chat with Jenny Crwys-Williams on Talk Radio 702. She told listeners that she was a tomboy child whose hero was Zorro. She confirmed that Giorgio Armani is designing her dress for the wedding in July and she expects that the two-day affair will be “amazing,” as it being organized by a “fantastic” team.

Meanwhile, the fashion house of Christian Lacroix has released a special “marital medal” in honor of Prince Albert and Charlene.
