Dutch Crown Prince Couple visit Hofplein Theater

Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Maxima were on Sunday 12 December in Rotterdam to attend the anniversary show ”The Birthday of King Louis, the Only One” at the Theatre Hofplein. The show was held on the occasion of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Hofplein theater.

Hofplein is the collective name for a theater, the Youth Theatre School Hofplein The MBO Theatre, The Theatre HAVO / VWO and the Rotterdam School of Acting.

The anniversary show was written by children’s author Koos Meinderts. The story is about the celebration of the birthday of King Louis the First, who is 25 years old. The cast is made up of students from the Youth Theatre School Hofplein Theatre and students from the MBO.

At the Youth Theatre School, over 4,000 students between 6 and 26 years of age have daily training in singing, dancing and games. The school has a budget for several teaching locations in southwest Netherlands. The MBO Theatre and The Theatre HAVO / VWO offer students training in the theater world. Acting through the Rotterdam School may at HBO level followed an acting course.
