Crown Princess Maxima visits Nijkerk
Today, November 30, Princess Maxima was in Nijkerk at the final session of the ‘Best Buddies’. Best Buddies (Beste Maatjes) is a program of the Orange Fund to put the work of buddies, mentors and coaches on the map and to recruit new volunteers. Buddies are volunteers who support someone for a long time in learning new knowledge or skills.
There are language buddies, mentors who support young people in their high school and buddies for people with psychiatric disabilities.
In March 2008, Crown Princess Maxima launched its media campaign for Wanted: Mates w / v. Studies of the Verwey Jonker Institute reveal that it certainly recruited 4,000 new volunteers.
During the closing session, Professor GBM Engersen presented the results of the investigation. The coordinators of over 350 buddies, mentors, coaches and buddy projects come together to develop knowledge, contacts and ideas.
The Prince of Orange and Princess Maxima are patrons of the Orange Fund.
