Prince Henrik and Prince Christian Unveil Portrait of Duke Ulrik
HRH the Prince Consort, Prince Henrik, and HRH Prince Christian of Denmark unveiled a portrait of King Christian IV’s son, Duke Ulrik, at Rosenborg Castle.
Among those attending was proud mom HRH Crown Princess Mary, who watched her oldest child perform his first officially listed duty.
The portrait was created around 1615 and shows then four-year-old Duke Ulrik. Duke Ulrich was the fourth son of King Christian IV and Queen Anne Catherine of Denmark, daughter of Margrave Joachim Frederick of Brandenburg and Princess Catherine of Brandenburg-Küstrin.
Duke Ulrik bore the style and title of HRH Prince of Denmark, Duke of Holstein and Schleswig and died in 1633.
