The Arab Knight of Giving Award for Queen Rania
HM Queen Rania of Jordan received the Arab Knight of Giving Award in recognition for her great efforts in supporting both global and regional education.
The award is a statue of a gold eagle presented by HRH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and President of the Red Crescent Committee and was organized by the late Sheikh Zayed Giving Initiative during the Arab Giving Forum. Her Majesty shared this award with HRH Prince Al Waleed bin Talal of Saudi Arabia and the late HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of UAE, who where both granted this award for their efforts in supporting humanitarian work.
The event took place in Abu Dhabi, the UAE, where Queen Rania also attended a women’s charity lunch to raise funds for her initiative “Madrasati Palestine” . This lunch raised more than Dh500,000 (US$136000) for the initiative.
Queen Rania also met during the visit H.H Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Board of the Khalifa bin Zayed Charitable Foundation.
