Official Visit to Malaysia – Day 2

During the second day during Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s visit to Malaysia the events were focused on trade and industry. The day began with the fomal opening of a seminar on collaboration in trade and industry. The Crown Prince pointed out the good cooperation between Norway and Malaysia on petroleum-related activities during his opening speech.

After the seminar the Crown Prince visited Petronas, the national petroleum company of Malaysia where he met President & CEO Datuk Shamsul Azhar Abbas at company headquarters in Petronas Towers.

Meanwhile Princess Mette-Marit took part in a seminar about gender equality. The seminar’s aim was to point out the importance of women’s participation in important private as well as the public sectors.

Later the Crown Princely couple were in attendance at the conference hall where the finalists of a competition to develop energy-saving solutions presented their projects. In the afternoon Prince Haakon attended a cooking competition where students where cooking Norwegian food.
