Grand Duke Jean Receives Award
On Monday, Grand Duke Jean of Luxembourg received the award ‘Help for Nature 2009’. The award was handed over to him in the Museum of Natural History in Luxembourg City.
The grand duke received the awards for his all the years that the grand duke was involved in the preservation of nature. On the official website of the Grand Ducal family it is said that the former monarch is a friend of nature and has a keen interest in the protection of the flora and fauna. In his speech, the director of the museum, Georges Bechet, remembered how the grand duke visited the museum shortly after the opening in the 80’ties.
The Grand Duke received the award in front of a large audience, among them two government ministers and representatives from the ten different municipalties of Luxembourg.
