Al-Khalifa and Al-Maktoum Wedding Celebrations

On September 28, 2009 Sheikh Nasser bin Hamed Al Khalifa, the son of King Hamed of Bahrain, married Sheikha Sheikha bin Mohammed bin Rashid, the daughter of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The celebrations took place in Dubai with a lunch that was attended by King Hamed of Bahrain, UAE President Sheikh Khalifa and the bride’s father Sheikh Mohammed, along with the rulers and Crown Princes of the Emirates.

The women’s ceremony will take place on October 2, 2009; when a dinner is held for the occasion.

In the UAE, there are two parties since the weddings aren’t mixed. The men’s party is a lunch and is followed a few days later by the women’s ceremony, which is a dinner. The day of the men’s lunch is when the signing of the marriage contract takes place.
