His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam last night consented to attend a dinner, in conjunction with His Majesty 59th Birthday at the Assarra Hall, hosted by the Head of Diplomatic Missions in Brunei Darussalam. Accompanying His Majesty was Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hjh Saleha, His Royal Highness Prince Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah.

not sure if anybody can help:) but over the new year hols the uk pop star gareth gates was going to perform for the royal family at the empire hotel:) but for obvious reasons it got cancelled but im not sure if he stilled performed privatley for the royal family has anybody got any information regarding his stay in brunei or any photos ???

please dont worry if u are unable to help thoe :)
 
Their Majesties attend Royal Goodwill Concert at Jerudong Amphitheatre

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Dipertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha last night consented to attend the Konsert Muhibbah Diraja or the Royal Goodwill Concert in conjunction with His Majesty’s 59th birthday anniversary celebration.
..........Also attending the concert were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince; and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah and other members of the royal family.

Bandar's tribute to Sultan

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam last night witnessed a magnificent Royal extravaganza, 'Malam Serumpun', as a spectacular closing to the month-long 59th royal birthday celebrations.
Held at the Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar 'Ali Saifuddien in the capital, it was a vibrant multi-event performance of diverse cultural groups, a colourful float procession, march-past, a breathtaking fireworks display that lit up the sky and the Borneo Tug-of-War final. Accompanying His Majesty were Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pg Anak Hajah Saleha, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah, HRH Prince Abdul Azim, HRH Prince Abdul Malik and HRH Prince Abdul Mateen.

The night stalls and stage performances held in conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan of Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 59th birthday celebration, which was sponsored by Mukim Kilanas Consultative Council, ended with a host of stage performances and prize presentation for winners of competitions held during its run. Winners from the Suboh Azan competition, Syair competition and singing competition, were awarded.

It was organised by the Ministry of Defence. His Majesty, who is also the Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, was accompanied by His Royal Highness Prince General Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office.

Just a quick question; I'm not very familiar with the Royal family's structure and hierarchy. I know the sultan married the queen, but I don't know how the dynamics of the subsequent wives enter the picture. Does anyone know of a site with a family tree of the sultan and his wives? Thanks in advance!

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, yesterday paid a working visit to the Prime Minister's Office and attended a meeting with permanent secretaries from government ministries.

The Sultan has one wife, Queen Saleha.
He divorced his second wife, Princess Mariam, in 2003. She was stripped of her royal titles. But even while he was married to Mariam, she was a Princess and the Sultan's first wife, Saleha, was always the one known as Queen. So the first wife took precedence over the second.
