This is a thread dedicated to Princess Caroline and the Prince Pierre
Foundation.

The Prince Pierre Foundation was founded in 1966 by Prince Rainier. The leader of Monaco founded the foundation in remembrance of his father who was Prince Pierre of Monaco. Since 1988 the Foundation is lead by Princess Caroline who is well known to hold a strong interest in literature and arts. It gives out awards and prized to those that have played an important role in the arts and literature.

The foundation actually consists of three separate institutions which are the International Contemporary Art Prize, the Grand Literary Prize and the Prince Rainier Prize.

Thanks to Iceflower for opening this thread :)

1) A short video from the Prince's Palace website, showing Caroline and Albert handing out the literary and artistic prizes of the Fondation Prince Pierre.

I believe it's quite rare for two senior members of the family to attend a prizegiving. It is Caroline's responsibility, but Albert must have regarded the occasion as noteworthy. Jean-Paul Proust, the Minister of State was also there.

This is certainly one of the nicest outfits Caroline has worn for sometime and it's helped by a slightly warmer hair colour.

How interesting, when Caroline smiles, all her face lightens up, she looses that rigidity her features sometimes show, she looses her royal distance, and gains a warmth and a humanity so attentive and reassuring. It´s as if she'd step down of her pedestal and became so close to us all. A nice, simple, caring person... Just that: a person. :flowers: :flowers: :flowers:

On May 6th, the nominees of the Bourse de la Découverte 2009 were announced. In September 2009, the Monegasque sixth form students will choose the Laureate and winner of the 5000 euro Prix du Coup de Coeur des Lycéens.
The prizegiving will coincide with the annual Laureate Ceremony of the FPP in October 2009.
