I beleive she was asking if the video is from 2012 because in your post on the previous page the picture from 2012 is the same as the video with the line up of royals
They are definitely NOT the same, as in the photos we can see HIH the Princess Mako of Akishino who is this year's debutante.
Princess Mako was not featured in the video, because she was not an adult member of the IF that year yet.
... The video says 2010 but pic says from January 1, 2012...
I have written the date above the video to make our members aware it was not this year's video.
The video was really gorgeous, thus I was eager to share it with the others. This thread in not for news only, but for discussing all Imperial jewels of Japan, IMO.
I'm sorry if I was wrong posting here. I shall never share my collection again, LadyGabrielle, you have my word.

I like to video too, you can really see the sparkle of the royal jewels, thanks for posting!

I did not mean to be disrespectful. That was not my intent. I obviously did not understand what was being said. My apology.

Thank you for sharing Kasumi. They are lovely. So elegant.

I like the base detailing of the Sunburst Tiara, it looks good on princesses with dark hair.

One more closeup of elegant Japanese Pearl Sunburst tiara of the Crown Princess - January 1st, 2012.

I like this tiara but I love the tiara that princess mako? Wore when she turned 20 it almost reminds me of the lovers knot tiara of the BRF.

There are two peeks are beautiful jewelry in this video. First we see the Imperial ladies with their gorgeous necklaces, and then at around 33 seconds, we see their tiaras for a quick peek.

This pearl tiara and the earrings are indeed very elegant and delicate pieces of jewellery - I quite like them! :flowers:

I really like the tiara and its matching necklace. Are they part of a parure, and if yes, do you know anything about its history?
Empress Michiko was really a very beautiful young lady. :)

She was stunning. :flowers:
Unfortunately, I do not know anything about the tiara than what I got from this very thread. I am not very knowledgeable concerning jewels. Sorry about that...

I had a quick look at the previous posts in this thread, as well as a Google search, and there appears to be virtually no information on this tiara and the accompanying necklace. Just that it's often worn by the Empress and that it has also been Crown Princess Masako's tiara of choice after her wedding.

Pity, I'd have loved to learn more about the piece's provenance. Mind you, it doesn't look particularly old so maybe it had been purchased for Empress Michiko.

Warren, you are such a gem! I've been trying to find a clear picture of the Sunburst tiara since yesterday, to no avail.
Thanks a lot for posting the picture! :flowers: :flowers: :flowers:

I love pearls totally and this tiara is so gorgeous ... the diamonds in the video are out of this world total love....

Ah! The sunburst tiara is so lovely! Thanks, Warren!

What a beautiful pearl set and the Empress was absolutely stunning in her youth.

Tiara Question

For the princesses who were born in to the imperial family, do they have to 'return' their tiaras when they get married and relinquish their titles?

:previous:
The tiaras seen on the Imperial Princesses appear to be of relatively modern design (ie post-WWII) so there's no way of knowing whether they belong to the Emperor, the Imperial Family as a whole, the IHA as overall custodian, or are the private property of the princesses or their parents.

Princess Takamado represented the Imperial Family at the recent wedding of Princess Madeleine in Stockholm.
