I've seen recent photos of the King, and I wanna know why his nose is purple?

After Queen Margrethe's announcement of abdication, several court experts believe that it can create a domino effect for the Nordic monarchs. It is rejected by the court, Margareta Thorgren says there is no connection.
Svensk Damtidning's editor-in-chief Johan T Lindwall said yesterday that Margrethe's decision undeniably puts pressure on king Carl Gustaf, who has always claimed that he does not intend to abdicate prematurely.
From the court's side, it is clear that Margrethe's announcement does not affect the Swedish royal family's choice.
- This is a decision that has been made in Denmark, in another country and has been made by the Danish head of state. That is what has been informed. This is an issue that has previously been discussed in the media, and there is no connection with Queen Margrethe, says Thorgren.(..)

The King and Queen have been in Austria.
Queen Silvia surprised Norderstedt sculptor
At a sculpture workshop in Obergurgl Queen Silvia suddenly stood in front of sculptor Thomas Behrendt, who didn't recognize her at first: “She was very nice and friendly and asked what we were doing there. I explained it to her and also showed the different types of rock”.
At some point Behrendt thought it might be queen Silvia, but the idea of the Queen of Sweden appearing there on the mountain pasture seemed too absurd. But then he saw the King behind her.
The Queen asked if Behrendt had alabaster. Two stones he wanted to give her were a bit ugly on the back, he had to rework them. He also had a green soapstone for her. So they met again the next day. When the King and Queen returned, Behrendt hadn't quite finished the stones yet, the King and Queen went to the Zirben Alm for lunch.
The Queen was very happy of the stones and wanted to pay for them. Behrendt gave them to her. A bodyguard took a photo of them. Behrendt describes the Queen as loving, open, uncomplicated and warm-hearted. The King stayed in the background.

The King was seen yesterday arriving to the Royal Palace driving his BMW. He and Victoria attended the Council of State.
"When the King has commitments at the Royal Palace, He usually drives himself from Drottningholm. On official assignments, the Royal Stables is responsible for the transports," the Court writes in an email.

Queen Silvia has been at the Intiman Theatre in Stockholm at the show of the comedy group "Anakronisterna", with comedians Per Andersson, Claes Eriksson and Andreas T Olsson.

The king was captured on photo driving his BMW at Rålambshovsparken in Stockholm on Thursday afternoon.

The board of H.M The King's Jubilee Fund for Youth in Sweden has decided to award scholarships totaling SEK 380,000 as follows:

Finnish painter Fritz Jakobsson told in 2018 to YLE, Finland's National public broadcasting company, about how he painted a portrait of queen Silvia.
Jakobsson had painting sessions of total 16 hours with the queen. He had thought that royals like the queen don't have much time for this kind of thing, he was really surprised by how much time he got for the sessions. It was quite an experience to be with the queen alone and talk about everything. It felt as they were even close friends, although Jakobsson understood how to keep the right distance and followed the queen's initiatives in conversations.
Jakobsson also gave then 18-year-old Victoria a small private lesson on the secrets of painting. Even after this, he has received greetings from Drottningholm Palace, the last one was sent by Victoria, who said that Jakobsson's painting of her mother is her favorite portrait.
- Such recognition feels really good, says Jakobsson.

Distribution of scholarships from The Royal Wedding Fund (Stiftelsen Kungaparets Bröllopsfond)
The board of The Royal Wedding Fund has at a meeting at the Royal Palace on May 22 decided to award grants totaling SEK 798,000:

Queen Silvia is 80 years old but she is working hard. In September she has 20 working days with three trips abroad: 6.-8.9. The Paralympics, Paris, France, 18.-19.9. Visit with the World Childhood Foundation, Berlin, Germany and 25.-27.9. A seminar and board meeting in the World Childhood Foundation, New York, USA.

The Jubilee year meant a busy schedule for the royal family. But 2024 looks to be even busier for Queen Silvia, soon 81. Since the beginning of August, the Queen has managed to tick off 20 official missions together with others in the royal family, and ten missions on her own.
She has traveled to France, New York and Germany for work, in addition to commitments in Sweden. Soon the Queen will return to USA to celebrate Childhood's 25th anniversary with a charity gala in New York.
Until the end of October, the Queen will carry out eight more joint assignments and seven of her own - and more may be added, says Margareta Thorgren. How much work lies ahead for the Queen depends on how many requests come in. She is incredibly accommodating and wants to attend as much as she can. Above all, events on children's rights and dementia.

Queen Silvia, accompanied by King Carl XVI Gustaf, and cousins, visited São Manuel on Tuesday, the city where her mother was born, and with which she maintains strong emotional ties.
The royal entourage arrived in São Manuel late in the morning. According to the City Hall press office, the visit itinerary included a stop at the house where the Queen's great-grandfather lived, the main church, Pousada da Colina (a shelter for the elderly), the Municipal Museum and the Railway Station.

The Queen and the King, accompanied by Prince Dom Bertrand de Orleans e Bragança, head of the Imperial House of Brazil, participated in the inauguration of the municipality's railway station, named after Silvia's mother, Alice Soares de Toledo.
The royals also visited the Igreja Matriz de São Manuel, a shelter for the elderly and the house where the Queen's great-grandfather lived. In her speech, the Queen thanked the authorities for the tribute and highlighted that the station was the gateway to São Manuel, where she holds many memories.

The King and Queen is enjoying their autumn-break in Brazil to the fullest. Even trying the waves on bodyboards 🏄‍♂️ 🏄

At Expressen on November 13:
It was an emotional journey.
Silvia's mother was recently honored with a cultural center in her name.
This was the first time the Queen was able to visit the house and show her gratitude for the touching gesture.
The Alice Soares de Toledo Sommerlath Cultural Center is located in a former train station and warehouse that the Queen's family built for the city.
Neto Giacoia is the initiator of the tribute.
- It was a wonderful day. We had so much fun. It was a very private visit and felt like she was at home with the family, he says.
