How wonderful to see Charlene so happy!
It is indeed. Lately it has been a joy to see her so relaxed and happy.
Great to see P.Charlene so lively, she really loves the rugby

But she spoke in French! La répétition is clearly giving her the confidence to speak en français!Poor Charlene, she just stood there as an ornament and her few words at the end trying to see 'happy new year' with her husband in unison didn't sound that convincing either.

Well if she wasn’t there, there would be loads of speculation and if she were to utter more than a greeting it’s likely it would be considered overstepping her position. Can’t see what else she can do.
No other monarchs have their spouse standing next to them during their Christmas or New Year's address as far as I am aware. So, unless it is tradition for Monaco for the spouse to stand next to the monarch (which in that case most likely was invented by Albert himself given that the principality didn't have a monarch's spouse for almost 30 years), it would be perfectly fine for her not to be there.
