Princess Astrid will be 50 on June 5 and already celebrated her birthday with several family members!

Only Queen Fabiola, Crown Prince Philippe, Crown Princess Mathilde and their children were not present.

According to the article princess Mathilde was present at the lunch with her 2 daughters, prince Philippe was abroad and Queen Fabiola was sick.

Thanks for the article. I didn't realize that four of the five kids are studying or living abroad. Must be very quiet for them normally.

Princess Mathilde and her daugters attended the luch.

It say that Queen Fabiola was unable to attend too, and she felt unwell. The article says that Mathilde did not attend as her children had a celebration at school. Nice to see that Laurent was there too with his family. The princess looks great for her age btw and seems to be one of the most sympathetic people of the family!

Was the lunch after the official photo shoot? I guess a few of her Habsburg and Luxembourg/Liechtenstein relatives may have been there too. A pity that Archduchess Margherita wasn't included in the pictures as she usually is.

I think they did a pre-celebration to allow her working children to be there.
She is wonderful and what a smile !
Queen Paola was not in her good days.
