Queen Mathilde Presents “Queen Mathilde Prize” 2022

Thursday May 12, Queen Mathilde handed out the “Queen Mathilde Prize” 2022 in a ceremony held at the Royal Palace in Brussels. The theme of this year was: “I SEE, IDEA, I DO”, focused about young people that realize projects.
The award went to “Brake-Out”, a non-profit organization from Borgerhout, a district of Antwerp. This organization, active in various regions of Flanders, “is committed to the inclusion of young people with intellectual disabilities” and helps people between 18 to 22 years old to gain “new experiences, discovering their talents and developing a future project that matches their dreams and desires”.
Queen Mathilde in her speech stressed the importance to “help each other when the going gets tough”.
The non-profit organization Brake-out received a prize of 10,000 euros.
The “Queen Mathilde Prize” is awarded every year to an organization that helps vulnerable people and young children.
