Prince Saud Al Faisal Passes Away

Saudi Prince and former Foreign Minister Saud Al Faisal bin Abdul Aziz died on Thursday in the United States after long illness.

Prince Saud bin Faisal bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud was born in 1940 as the son of the late King Faisal bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia. He graduated from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics.

Before his retirement earlier this year, Prince Saud was Saudi Arabia’s and the world’s longest serving Foreign Minister. He headed Saudi diplomacy for forty years under the reign of four Kings of the Al-Saud dynasty.

Since last April and until his death the Prince served as Advisor to and Personal Envoy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Supervisor of Foreign Affairs.

The Saudi Royal Court mourned Prince Saud Al Faisal and announced that his funeral prayers will be performed at the Grand Mosque in Mecca this Saturday.
