Older Brother of Luxembourg’s Grand Duchess Dies

The Luxembourg Grand Ducal Court announced this evening the death of José Antonio Mestre, the older brother of Grand Duchess Maria Teresa.

Mr Mestre passed away at his home in Miami, Florida at the age of 62. No cause of death was announced. He suffered serious cardiovascular problems in 2011, which resulted in a week-long coma.

Mr Mestre has been present at several events of his sister’s family, most recently the wedding of his nephew, Prince Felix, to Claire Lademacher in September 2013.
