Mary hits the right fashion note on US tour

Over a week after the Spanish visit, Prince Frederick and Princess Mary made a 6 day visit to the US. To mark the trip a new picture was released of the couple (image1) in which Mary wore a simple grey tiered dress teamed with a cardigan by Missoni.

The first engagement in Chicago (22 March) Mary wore a recycled Prada coat (image2) which was classic and understated. For an engagement later that Mary changed into a new outfit (image3). The dusty pink jacket look great and Mary wore her favourite pair of pumps with the outfit. image4 The following day in Chicago (23 March) Mary wore a striking red and cream floral patterned dress with a red coat. image5 This combined look was something quite different for Mary yet she pulled it off. Although the coat had been worn a few times previously, the dress was new and royal watchers will wait eagerly until she recycles it by itself to see the full effect. image6

The couple moved onto Iowa and attended a dinner that evening with local Danish-Americans. Mary wore a recycled black lace cocktail dress (image7) with a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes. (image8 – view of the dress the last time it was seen in Oct 2007) Day 3 of the trip in Iowa (24th March) saw Mary wear a completly new suit teamed with an unusual pair of snakeskin Christian Louboutin shoes. image9 , image10

The royal couple travelled onto Nebraska where that night they attented a dinner. Mary wore another recycled dress by Hugo Boss (image11 – view of the dress from the first occasion it was worn back in October 2006) under a smart black coat. image12. More engagements in Denver, Colorado the following day (25th March) saw Mary wear a new black trouser suit worn with a blue blouse by one of her favourite designers Malene Birger taken from her spring/summer 2009 collection. image13 , image14.

The final engagement of the tour (27th March) was a dinner in New York where Mary wore a striking strapless patterned evening dress from the Spring/Summer 2009 collection in Heartmade. image14 She kept her jewellery very simple with a pair of aquamarine earrings. image15. Mary’s fashions were a success througout the US tour by using new outfits mixed with some of her old favourites. She was a great ambassador for Denmark impressing royal watchers throughout with her elegant fashion choices.
