Abu Dhabi CP Visits Washington DC
His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, started a working visit to the United States on April 26, 2011.
At the start of the visit, HH Sheikh Mohammed visited the Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation at Children’s National Medical Center (CNMC) in Washington DC where he toured the new facilities. During the tour, HH Sheikh Mohammed met with several Emirati patients and their families, he enquired about their process and treatment they were receiving. The Institute was created in 2009 after a $150 million donation from the government of Abu Dhabi.
His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed also held talks with US President Barack Obama who welcomed his guest in the in the Oval Office at the White House. After the meeting, the two leaders did not give a statement or talk to the press but the White House statement said “The two leaders had a productive and wide-ranging discussion which focused on our common strategic interests in the region.”
